MPM is an industry-driven programme designed for individuals who want to establish themselves as professional in project management field and those who are interested to pursue a new career in project management. The programme helps students to develop the ability to solve real-world problems, exercise sound management judgment and develop efficient decision-making skills.

MPM aims to trains students to acquire a wide perspective by providing courses in the core area of project management such as principles of project management, cost analysis, quality management, risk management, contract management and business management. In addition, courses like change management, international project management and safety health will allow MPM graduates to be competent professionals in the era of globalisation. These graduates have been trained using case studies and a research project, thus improving employability.

This programme is ideal for project managers, supervisors, engineers, project directors from various sectors – national and international public and non-governmental organisations, ministries, banks, consulting companies and entrepreneurs.

    Project management is recognised as a highly valued discipline in its own right. Organisations have come to rely on specialist project managers, with excellent practical skills and theoretical knowledge, to plan and deliver projects on time, within budget and to specifications.
    This degree uses A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) as a framework. It is the international industry-standard approach to project management that can be applied across different industries, businesses and government institutions.You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to network, exchange ideas and share experiences with practising project managers as well as other professionals. As part of this degree you will do a major integrated research project which could focus on a real issue in your workplace.
  2. How is the Career Pathways?
    Master of Project Management graduates may work in various positions including senior project manager, program director, and chief project officer roles. They may work locally and internationally, in a wide range of areas including mining, manufacturing, water, automotive industry, structural industry, IT industry, finance, management and environmental consultancy.

  4. When can I start?
    You can apply for admission to Master of Project Management at any time at https://fastrac.oum.edu.my/ OR register at any learning centre in Malaysia. After you are enrolled, you may begin taking classes at the start of any semester, January, May and September.
  5. How long does the program take?
    To earn your degree, you will complete 12 courses equalling 40 credit hours of program work. At two to three courses per semester, you will complete your degree in 24 months.
  6. Will this program help me to prepare for the PMP exam?
    Yes. The Master of Project Management curriculum is based on the Project Management Book of Knowledge Guide, which you will need to master to successfully pass the exam and includes PMP preparation coursework throughout the program.
  7. What if I already have my PMP Certificate?
    Students who hold a PMP certification at the time of enrollment in the programme are eligible to apply for APEL C for the EMPM5203- Project Management.
  8. What will my classmates be like?
    The majority of students attending this program are working adults balancing the demands of career, family, and civic responsibilities. Most students in the project management degree program are practicing project managers who realise that they need the Master’s to advance. Other students within the program are in middle managers who want to add valuable project management skills to their resumes.     The Master of Science in Project Management is accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency, reference number A9409, since 7 October 2010.

    Students accepted into the Master of Project Management online program are from a variety of industries. We find that incorporating a variety of industries brings additional perspectives as well as unique learning experiences to the classroom. MBA definitely focus on business management.
