The Bachelor of Communication (BComm) is designed to produce graduates with comprehensive knowledge that informs, moves, creates and shapes the world of communication. Students will be exposed to a broad-based learning experience encompassing nearly all major aspects of communication such as journalism, advertising, broadcasting, corporate communication and public relations.
The programme will also develop learners’ ability to apply communication techniques critically and objectively in real life situations.
Due to a broad range of communication subjects covered in this programme, graduates are expected to be able to fit into various professions, both in public and private sectors. Since employers nowadays are looking for versatility and flexibility among fresh graduates, the Bachelor of Communication programme precisely answers that need as learners are exposed to multi-disciplinary knowledge and diverse skills not only in communication but also in the social sciences.
Graduates can find ready employment in advertising, journalism, news media, copy writing, editing, public affairs and public relations.
PROGRAMME EDUCATION OBJECTIVES (PEO)
This programme aims to produce graduates that are:
PEO 1: knowledgeable and competent with comprehensive knowledge and skills in communication and other relevant disciplines which can be applied in communication and social environment. (Cognitive)
PEO 2: Effective in communication and demonstrate good leadership quality in early childhood organisation. (Psychomotor)
PEO 3: able to respond/solve communication and social issues innovatively, creatively and ethically through sustainable approach. (Cognitive)
PEO 4: to adapt to the dynamic changes in the social and communication environment as well as to pursue lifelong learning. (Affective)
PROGRAMME LEARNING OUTCOMES (PLO)
Upon completion of all courses in this programme, the graduates should be able to:
PLO1: Acquire knowledge of concepts, principles, practices and standards of communication and other relevant disciplines for the purpose of academic or work. (Knowledge and Understanding).
PLO2: Think critically and suggest possible solutions using the acquired knowledge and skills in solving problems related to issues within the social and communication environment. (Cognitive Skill)
PLO3: Apply practical and theoretical understanding in planning, organising, leading and controlling for the purposes of managing functions and processes of communication an in organisation or society. (Practical Skill)
PLO4: Use acquired knowledge of the communication field for the purpose of academic or workplace. (Interpersonal Skill)
PLO5: Communicate effectively in performing personal and work related roles. (Communication Skill)
PLO6: Use relevant management information from various digital resources for continuous self-development. (Digital Skill)
PLO7: Demonstrate the ability to interpret graphics and numerical data for the personal usage and to solve real world problem. (Numeracy Skill)
PLO8: Perform related roles at various levels as leaders in organisation and facilitate positively to the community and relevant stakeholders. (Leadership, Autonomy, and Responsibility)

* International students are required to pay registration fees of RM1,000 and an additional 20% for the tuition fees.

Discount for the Physically Challenged Learners (OKU) and Senior Citizens
The University offers 50% discount for:
- Senior citizens aged 60 and above on registration date; and
- Physically challenged learners – a valid Orang Kelainan Upaya (OKU) is required.
These discounts are for subject fees only and are not applicable for research and other fees. The discounts are also not valid for second time registration and repeating of subjects.
Learners who receive this discount are not entitled to other discounts and promotions.
