The objectives of this programme is to produce learners with IT skills which enable them to become programmers, analyst programmers, IT administrators or IT executives. Learners are required to accumulate 90 credit hours of prescribed courses in order to graduate.

      WHAT IS MBOT?Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT) is one of the new professional body that gives Professional Recognition to Technologists and Technicians in related technology and technical fields. Based on Act 768, MBOT expands its function vertically and horizontally whereby MBOT looks at technology-based profession that cuts across discipline based from conceptual design to a realized technology and covers from Technicians (with SKM/Diploma Level) up to Technologists (Bachelor’s Degree level and above).
  3. What is the career pathway of the programme?
    To work as programmer, system analyst, database, network or system administrator, software or network engineer, IT administrators, IT executives and a lot more.
  4. What is the learning pathway of the programme?
    After completion of the programme, learner can continue to pursue education in the following OUM programmes:

    • Bachelor of Information Technology with Honours (BIT)
    • Master of Information Technology (MIT)
    • Doctor of Philosophy (Information Technology)
  5. What are the entry requirements for DIT?
    Normal Entry

    i. Pass SPM with minimum credit in 3 subjects including Mathematics; or
    ii. UEC with minimum Grade B in 3 subjects including Mathematics; or
    iii. O-Level with minimum Grade C in 3 subjects including Mathematics; or
    iv. Pass SKM Level 3 in related field AND pass SPM with minimum a credit in Mathematics at SPM level; or
    v. Pass Community College Certificate equivalent to MQF Level 3 in related field AND pass SPM with minimum a credit in Mathematics at SPM level; or
    vi. Pass other qualifications equivalent to Certificate (MQF Level 3) AND a credit in Mathematics at SPM level

    Note:
    Candidate without credit in Mathematics at SPM level can be exempted if the Certificate program comprise of Mathematics equivalent to the Mathematics at SPM level.

    vii. STPM or its equivalent with minimum Grade C (GP 2.00) in 1 subject AND a credit in Mathematics at SPM level; or
    viii. STAM (Maqbul level) AND a credit in Mathematics at SPM level; or
    ix. Other recognized equivalent qualifications.

  6. What is the mode of teaching for the programme?
    DIT duration is for 3 years and 4 months programme with 3 courses per semester. You can take more courses depending on the grade and courses offered.
    To learn you are encouraged to attend the e-tutorial sessions conducted using video conferencing via Google Meet (8 sessions@8 hours per course) by E-Tutor.
    Your learning journey will also be supported with the forum discussion and e-lesson material under the learning platform known as MyInspire. Assignment and modules will be uploaded in this platform too. You are required to submit assignments through online and sit for the take home final examination through online submission.
