A delegation comprising OUM’s President/Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Ahmad Izanee Awang, Registrar Assoc Prof Dr Tuan Fatma Tuan Sulaiman, APEL Centre Director Rohaizak Omar @Abd Rahim, and International Operation Unit Head Azam Abdul Jalil visited Vietnam in mid-March to attend HUTECH’s convocation.
HUTECH, which stands for Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, has been OUM’s key partner in Vietnam since 2011, offering OUM’s bachelor’s and master’s programmes.
At the Convocation on 15 March, Prof Izanee presented scrolls to 93 Vietnamese graduates who had completed their studies under this collaboration. Among them, 25 had done their MBA while the rest had pursued Bachelor of IT, Bachelor of English Studies, and Bachelor of Business Administration.
In his speech at the ceremony, Prof Izanee said, “With today’s convocation, the OUM-HUTECH partnership has produced 1,888 graduates in total. More than 2,700 learners have enrolled since 2011, and more than 400 were actively studying every semester last year.
“By far, this international partnership has been OUM’s most successful, with the highest numbers of both learners and graduates. This is something both our institutions should celebrate, for it is a testament to the strength of our shared commitment to providing high-quality education across borders. Thus, as we celebrate each of you, dear graduates, we also celebrate the success of this partnership.”
Besides Vietnam, OUM has also cultivated a vibrant presence in other countries as well, including Sri Lanka, Ghana, Somalia, Bangladesh, and the United Arab Emirates. Through strategic internationalisation efforts, OUM continues to expand access to higher education, building global connections and empowering learners worldwide.
