OUM marked a significant leadership transition on 3 March 2026, with three key departments welcoming new heads. The changes aim to strengthen the University’s commitment to academic excellence and innovative learning.
Assoc Prof Dr Safiah Md Yusof, long-serving Director of the Centre for Teaching and Learning Management, retired, leaving behind a legacy of dedication in teaching excellence. She is succeeded by Dr Bibi Nabi Ahmad Khan, who steps in as Acting Director and is expected to continue advancing the Centre’s strategic initiatives in teaching and learning management.
At the Centre for Learning Technology, Assoc Prof Dr Zahari Hamidon handed over leadership to Intan Shuhada Mohd Alwi. She now serves as Acting Director, bringing fresh perspectives to the integration of technology in teaching and learning.
The Faculty of Education also saw a leadership change, with Assoc Prof Dr Mahani Abdul Malik taking over as Dean from Assoc Prof Dr Aliza Ali. This transition ensures continuity while opening new avenues for academic development and faculty engagement.
The handovers were formally witnessed by Prof Emeritus Datuk Dr Mohd Tajudin Md Ninggal, Vice President/Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & Research), highlighting the importance of these leadership roles in guiding OUM’s academic vision.
These appointments reflect OUM’s ongoing commitment to nurturing strong academic leadership and fostering an environment of innovation, collaboration, and excellence in higher education.
