Recently, OUM joined hands with The International Open University (IOU) from The Gambia, in West Africa, to hold the 3rd International Conference on Research and Integrated Sciences (IOUCRIS 2023). The conference theme is “Collaboration and Networking for Excellence in Research”.
A 2-day hybrid conference, its first day was at the OUM Main Campus on 23 February while the second day will be held fully online on 3 March.
According to IOU Director of Research and Publications, Assoc Prof Dr Afroza Bulbul Afrin, the conference aimed to foster a research culture among academics, researchers and students and to also publish a quarterly peer-reviewed journal entitled Journal of Integrated Sciences.
In his keynote address, OUM Vice President (Academic and Research), Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Tajudin Md Ninggal, spoke on “What Is Your Psychological DNA?” Several OUM academics also presented papers on a diverse range of topics, such as the use of AI in education, OUM learners’ retention and readiness to use technology in learning, and perception of learners towards OUM’s fully online approach.
IOUCRIS 2023 focused on research in social sciences, Islamic sciences and pure sciences. It was attended by guests from the Selangor district education office as well as presenters and participants from IOU, OUM and other local public and private universities.
