OUM Signs MoU with NCT Group

OUM has joined hands with renowned property developer NCT Group of Companies (NCT Group) to collaborate on 4.0 Industrial Revolution (4IR) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) initiatives.

This collaboration, sealed through an MoU on 12 July, is aimed at preparing our learners for a future where they will need to be more adept at smart technology and display a higher level of efficiency.

“The time has come to start preparing our students for 4IR. They will need more defined skills to meet new workplace demands and challenges. I’d like to thank the NCT Group for taking this step to help strengthen our learners’ competencies and make them even more future-ready,” said Muhammad Afiq Redzuan, the Group CEO of METEOR Sdn Bhd, which is OUM’s holding company.

He signed the MoU with the NCT Group Founder and Group Managing Director, Dato’ Sri Yap Ngan Choy, witnessed by METEOR’s Chief Commercial Officer, Muhammad Nurhadi Zainol, and NCT’s Dato’ Yap Fook Choy.

According to Dato’ Sri Yap, 4IR will become a core contributor to the country’s digital economy. He added, “Collaborations with tertiary facilities will allow us to provide real-life industry experiences and expectations. We are pleased to collaborate with OUM to support the transformation of their students to better meet the needs of a 4IR workplace.”

The concept of 4IR represents the disruptive transformation of industries through the application of emerging technologies. It is characterised by new technologies that integrate the physical, digital, and biological worlds, which will have an impact on all disciplines, industries, and the economy.
