OUM Attends 13th UTM University Presidents Forum

Johor Bahru: The 13th UTM University Presidents Forum (UTM-UPF) 2023, held from 8 to 10 August at KSL Hotel and Resort, concluded with resounding success. This prestigious event brought together 25 university presidents/rectors and 150 participants from 11 countries, with OUM making a notable presence.

Representing OUM were President/Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ahmad Izanee Awang, Vice President (Academic & Research) Prof Datuk Dr. Mohd Tajudin Md Ninggal, and Director of the Centre for Research & Innovation, Dr Md Rosli Ismail. Their active participation showcased OUM’s commitment to global collaboration and innovation in higher education.

The forum was inaugurated by Minister of Higher Education Malaysia, YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, emphasising the significance of this event in shaping the future of higher education institutions in Malaysia. UTM-UPF, which began in 2009, has consistently provided a platform for universities to unite and address global demands effectively.

Under the theme “Innovating Solutions: Expanding Horizons,” UTM-UPF 2023 sought to foster the exchange of best practices and explore cutting-edge strategies for transforming higher education institutions on an international scale. The event focused on the efforts and initiatives undertaken by universities to tackle emerging global trends and challenges.

UTM-UPF2023 featured a carefully curated agenda, including keynote sessions by renowned speakers, panel forums covering various sub-themes, a collaboration exchange ceremony, a workshop on collaborating for global impact (international matching grant programme), and a presidents’ roundtable. These sessions provided an excellent platform for collaboration, enabling higher education institutions to generate innovative ideas and forge new paths.
