Bachelor of Liberal Studies with Honours

Bachelor of Liberal Studies covers a wide range of humanities and social sciences disciplines that consists of communication, psychology, political science, management, education and general sciences.

In addition, the programme also helps the graduates to obtain valuable knowledge in analysing and apply in solving societal issues in the society. It is OUM’s aim to equip graduates with high quality degrees so that they will succeed in their careers. The intention is to provide students with comprehensive and wholesome knowledge to be applied in their careers either in the public or the private sectors.

Discount for the Physically Challenged Learners (OKU) and Senior Citizens

The University offers 50% discount for:
1. Senior citizens aged 60 and above on registration date; and
2. Physically challenged learners – a valid Orang Kelainan Upaya (OKU) is required.
The discounts are not valid for second time registration and repeating of subjects.
Learners who receive this discount are not entitled to other discounts and promotions.

PEO1

To produce professional graduates who appreciate knowledge and are highly skilled in the area of social sciences specifically, psychology, communication and political science.

To produce graduates who can lead with good leadership quality, professionalism and efficiencies in advancing their career and knowledge, as well as the ability to work in a team within the organisation and society.

PEO3

To produce graduates with creativity, innovation, and critical thinking traits especially in addressing social issues, and communicate effectively in today’s challenging environment.
Programme Learning Outcomes (PLO)
 

PLO1 Acquire knowledge of concepts, principles, practices and standards of communication, psychology and political sciences, and other relevant disciplines for the purpose of academic or work. (Knowledge).
PLO2 Apply practical and theoretical understanding in any social sciences issues especially in communication, psychology and political science. (Practical Skills).
PLO3 Adapt different roles required in society and contribute positively to the community and relevant stakeholders. (Social Skills and Responsibility).
PLO4 Demonstrate ethical and moral values as well as professionalism in daily practice to fulfil their professional and social responsibilities. (Ethics, Professionalism and Humanities).
PLO5 Perform related roles individually or in teams, able to lead, communicate effectively and be good team players. (Communication Skills, Leadership and Team Work).
PLO6 Think critically and suggest possible solutions using the acquired knowledge and skills in solving problems related to issues within the social sciences’ fields. (Scientific Methods, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving Skills).
